French map of Europe put out sometime in either 1940 or prior to June 1941 (as indicated by border definitions on the map [eg. Bessarabia being part of the USSR]). Quite a bit of staining and some minor tears on the folds. In addition, someone, most likely a resident of the Reich, wrote dates on parts of the map, corresponding mainly to invasion dates (thus, whoever had this map, had it in 1941, when the Germans marched into the Ukraine).
Pencil marking on the blank side reads, "Europa Karte mit Herman's(ed.- ?) Feldzug", indicating this map was probably taken as booty in occupied France and brought "home" to be used to record the progress of an individual soldier during the earlier stages of the War.
Measures approx. 39 x 35 inches.
QUITE RARE!
